Setting up
- Fill to the marked line with clean, room-temperature water.
- Add the number of drops your diffuser's manual suggests — often somewhere around 3 to 8.
- Place it on a stable, water-safe surface away from where it will be knocked over.
- Run it in a room with normal ventilation rather than a sealed, tiny space.
How long to run it
Intermittent sessions are the usual advice rather than diffusing continuously all day — many people run 30 to 60 minutes at a time. Stop if anyone in the room develops a headache, a cough or any discomfort.
Be considerate of others sharing the space: children, people with respiratory sensitivity, and pets cannot leave the room on their own.
Cleaning
Empty and wipe the reservoir after each use, and give it a deeper clean periodically per your manufacturer's instructions. Leftover oil residue builds up and dulls the aroma of the next blend.
